The length myth

Of the very small number of readers of this space, a very high percentage have complained that my posts are too long and/or employ too many five-syllable words. In response to the second charge, I can only say that the individual who made it is a hypocrite if he thinks that is a bad thing. (He really is just talking about the word "akratically" I think, which, it is fair to say, is not a word a non-philosopher could be expected to know. Perhaps it is also fair to say that we should all be philosophers to some degree.) In response to the first complaint, I have altered the formatting of this page. The space in which the posts appear is now wider by 30 pixels. I think it will make a large psychological difference.
