Prime example

I once wrote:

And don't we recognize that fucking another man in the ass can be an expression, in some contexts, of power over him--an act that would thus reaffirm one's masculine strength and is not to be considered as shameful? (I do not mean we recognize this characterization in the sense that we would endorse the moral judgment involved.)

I was trying to make a point about the place of anal sex (or rape) in a certain kind of ideal of masculinity. At the time, I was somewhat sad that I didn't have an example of anyone giving expression to the value system in question. Yet, I did not want to take the time to scour the internet for a good one. Today, though, Lo! and Behold, a perfect example dropped into my lap, courtesy of Matthew Yglesias. And what an example it is!
